THE BRIEF
The project called for a contemporary hotel that would feel distinctive without losing the familiarity and comfort expected of a place to stay. The design needed to establish a recognisable identity while responding sensitively to its historic surroundings.
THE APPROACH
We used a restrained palette of stone, timber, linen, and muted tones to connect the public areas with the private rooms. Changes in texture, lighting, and scale create subtle distinctions between spaces, while consistent detailing gives the overall scheme a unified character.
THE OUTCOME
The proposed interiors offer a calm and welcoming guest experience, balancing contemporary refinement with a sense of local character. Each space feels connected to the wider hotel while retaining its own purpose and atmosphere.
